All Things Through Christ

Writer's picture: Alan FongAlan Fong

Today’s Verse:

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. ~Philippians 4:13

When we became sons of God, we entered a relationship that assures us of enablement through the adversities, hardships, and opportunities in life. Peter describes this enablement when he said, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3). So, Paul makes a firm affirmative statement that is an encouragement to us in our journey of faith.

We see the positive.

Paul looked at his circumstances with a positive outlook. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” If I am weak, I can. If I am outnumbered, I can. If I have a reversal, I can. If I have a loss, I can. No matter what I face, I can face it with a positive attitude. It is a statement filled with positive encouragement! Yes, you can!

We see the potential.

No opportunity is out of my reach. No obstacle can hold me back. I can do all things through Christ! There is no Red Sea that cannot be crossed. There is no Goliath that cannot be toppled. There is no troop that I cannot go through. There is no storm that cannot be calmed. There is no city that cannot be reached with the gospel. There are no people groups that we cannot reach. There is no adversity that cannot be overcome. Yes, you can!

We see the power.

It is not human power. It is not horsepower. It is not nuclear power. It is not wind power. No, it is the power of Christ. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” His power enables us to forgive. His power enables us to find contentment during difficult circumstances. His power enables us to go on, even when things look bleak. His power enables us to have faith in God, even when the way looks bad. Yes, you can!

We see the permission.

When we have God’s approval in our life, He more than enables us to do all things through His strength. It is a loving means to show that His approval is on our service and work. The fruit that abounds from serving Him is a validation of His permission. Yes, you can!

We see the product.

We have complete satisfaction. We have the thing that we have prayed for. We see the change that God wants to give. There is the peace that passes all understanding. There is the goal that has been met or exceeded. There is the accomplishment that has been attained. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Yes, you can!

Step out of the shadows of negative thinking and false assumptions, and realize the things that can be done through Christ which strengthens you. Do not take "no" as your final answer. Be sure that you have made every attempt that you can in the power of Christ. Set some dreams and goals that will challenge your faith in a new way. Take on your challenges and say, “Yes, I can!”

Have a Christ-enabled God Morning!
