Power Up

Today’s Verse:

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, ~Ephesians 1:19

Since the creation of man, we are well aware of the need of power in all facets of life. There is solar power, wind power, fire power, and electrical power. Our automobiles need to be fueled by battery power, gasoline or diesel fuel, or electrical power. Without power, our appliances at home will not work. Power is a vital necessity. The believers at Ephesus had forgotten about the potency of the power they had through the Lord Jesus Christ. Demonic entities, the practice of witchcraft, and the worship of Diana still thrived in their communities in spite of the presence of the church. Paul wrote Ephesians to remind them of the power they had through the Lord Jesus Christ. Like them, we need to be reminded we have power that is unlimited available to us.

We have a power that is unmatched.

This power is referred to as exceeding great and mighty. It is a power that subdues all competition and adversaries. It is a power that is sovereign. It is a heavenly power where Christ sits at the right hand of God. It is a power that is far above all else. It is eternal and perpetual power that made all things present. It is a power that is unlimited in its supply and source. It cannot be duplicated. It cannot be dominated. It cannot be dissipated. It is power that is indescribable. It is power that is all conquering. It is God’s power! It is power that is awesome, authoritative, and authentic! It is an unmatched power.

We have a power that is unbelievable.

Paul said in Ephesians 3:20 that this power is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. It is power harvested through biblical praying. Biblical praying is praying that is in faith. Biblical praying is praying that is in Jesus' name. Biblical praying is praying for results that only God can give. It is asking God to do what we cannot. It is power that stops demonic and Satanic wickedness. It is power that sets a soul free from the power of sin. It is power that enables the weakest Christian to have victory over self and sin. It is power that can bring true love back into a marriage. It is power that can raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It is power that unifies a local church. It is power that undergirds the most discouraged believer. It is power that is requested and needed to advance the cause of Christ. It is an unbelievable power.

We have a power that is underutilized.

With all this power at our availability what are we doing with it? It is interesting that much attention is given in our world to rogue nations that have access to nuclear power. We are concerned about insane dictators having access to nuclear power and the damage that can be done with the wrong use of this power. They believe in their power source. Do we believe in the heavenly power source God has vested in us? A praying church is a powerful church! Do we realize that the church cannot and will not succeed apart from the power of Christ? His power that raised Him from the dead is still available to do death defying things for those who access this power and have faith in Him and His power.

We have unlimited power. Let’s plug into our power source and draw from a supply that is holy, heavenly and ready.

Have a power-filled God morning!
