The World's Mightiest Pen

Today's Verse:

My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. ~Psalm 45:1

Having a good writing pen is essential wherever you go. One of the best pens that you can own is a Montblanc pen. It is an expensive but reliable pen. You never want your pen to run out of ink or fail you when you are writing. This morning, we are considering what is considered the world’s mightiest pen: your tongue! Psalm 45 is written to describe the incredible beauty of our King, the Lord Jesus Christ. David said that his tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Through his tongue, David gives a vivid description of our King, the Lord Jesus Christ!

He speaks of the irrefutable.

Jesus is second to none. There is no king who compares to Him. Our King is always in control. He is a King Who is always ready for battle. He is a King Who is mighty in battle. He is a King Who is fair in His dealings. He is a King Who deals with us in grace and mercy. He is a King Who is always ready to receive us. He is a King Who is unconquerable and perpetually undefeated. He is a King Who always has time for us. He is a King Whose kingdom shall never end. He is supreme, sovereign, and superior to all.

He speaks of the irresistible.

“Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever... Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.” All of these verses tell us one thing: He is a King Who is irresistible! He is irresistible in His beauty. He is irresistible is His fragrance. He is irresistible in His holiness. He draws us to Himself with an everlasting love. He brings us closer to Him during times of calamity and crisis. He is the Lily of the valley and the Rose of Sharon. He brings us joy and gladness through our fellowship with Him. He works in us so that we want more of His presence.

He speaks of the irreplaceable.

He is more precious than gold, silver, and precious stones. He is better than all the kingdoms of the world. He is better than the multitudes of friendships of people. He can never become outdated or obsolete. He never becomes irrelevant or useless. No! Our King is irreplaceable! There are no substitutes that can satisfy our desires like our King. There is no technology that competes with Him. There is no event that competes with Him. There is no king that I would rather serve than King Jesus. There is no king that I would rather worship than King Jesus. Why would you trade our King for anything else?

Like David, our tongue should be the pen of a ready writer. Be so knowledgeable about His Person that your worship of Him could write a book. Be so in love with Him that your witness testifies of His grace, His love, His mercy, His forgiveness, His pardon, and His acceptance in terms that compel others to come to Him. As the woman at the well said, “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?”

Take time today to magnify Him. Take time today to tell others of Who Jesus your King is.

Have a Christ-filled God Morning!
